Also really effective in pickup flag football.

Peyton Manning and beating the Cover 2
This is a good read.

Kyle Rudolph....
The hope at least is that we can more consistently punish teams in Cover 2 by getting huge chunks of yardage from Rudolph and the TE's running the Seam route. Coverage Busters.
Weis showed clips from the Hawaii Bowl of ND destroying their Cover 2. And he knows darn well that teams are going to hit us with Cover 2 until we show that teams will consistently pay for it.
If we have an above average running attack then the offense is going to be really, really, good.
North Carolina and BC are the ones that really jump out
With UNC you've got the obvious game-changer to start the second half. The other one in that game was the miscommunication between him and Floyd.
BC could have been an entirely different game if you take away two of those picks (especially the one that was returned).
Yup. And so much can be corrected...
Just by being smart with Cover 2.
Hell, if he just throws the ball away on half of these picks... what sort of record would the Irish have had in 2008?
Edited: I suppose not a huge difference in record, but I wonder how maybe one more win a less struggle against SDSU would make the season feel?
Thanks for the data!

I think this is a key area for improvement
I know we're supposed to be laser-focused on IMPOSING OUR WILL VIA SWEEPS, COUNTERS, AND TRAPS, but here's an area for improvement that's (almost in every case) quarterback-dependent, and it translates to real points on the board (or real points taken off the board). If Jimmy cuts those picks in half, we'll be the cat's pajamas.
It does...
and you info was helpful too. Thanks!

He does good work.
He gave you a more detailed version of the rough numbers I gave you the other day on Rocks.
I'm just glad to see that his work verified, what I hoped for your benefit, was an accurate representation.
Thanks very much!

Matt Q (and others) -- on Jimmy's picks
I whipped up a quick table of all the Clausen interceptions from last year.
