He has a very impressive list of suitors, to say the least.
These are the ones I know of, and I think there may be a few more.

I've seen him on TV a few times up here. He reads a defense well (at the high school level) and his throws are accurate and have excellent zip.
And the family is very ambitious with respect to Jay's football career.
The only question I have is the level of competition he

plays. In general, the competition in Seattle-area high school football doesn't stand up to your big football powerhouses -- CA, TX, FL, etc. High school football is just not as big of a deal up there, although I believe he plays for Skyline, which is generally a very highly thought of program.
I'm thinking we may have a shot at him, but I'd be just as happy to pull Devin Gardner, who is two inches taller and seems (from watching their videos) to be the more mobile of the two.
Competition

No doubt that Washington HS football isn't Texas, Florida or California. However, Skyline is a very good program that plays in the largest school division. And for comparison, I note that Bellevue HS, which plays in the next lower division, has beat up some notable California programs this decade.
Jake's size and mobility are legitimate issues. One also can't underestimate the pressure in the Seattle area to look at the UW as the best place to be. But as I stated in another post in this thread, Jake and his family reportedly are very ambitious.

De La Salle (at least I think it was De La Salle). I heard they also beat Poly High.
I haven't lived in Seattle for about 4 years now -- is the pressure to go to the Dub still the same given the current state of the program? I know many alumni were getting pretty jaded towards the end of Willingham's tenure there.
UW

No doubt that the UW program has lost some of its luster. But most areas tend to over-rank the local school, and the UW really doesn't even have any local competition. Kids from around here don't seem to want to move away long term, and often don't want to move away for the short term of college. I think that a lot of kids and families rationalize going to the UW.
On the other hand, the current crop of HS students can't really remember a prolonged state of UW football greatness, and the difficulty of the rebuilding should be obvious to all knowledgeable football fans. I don't think it would be as difficult to talk an ambitious kid into considering leaving.
As a side note, Skyline HS is on the Issaquah highlands, and that area tends to have a larger percentage of the population from other places. It is possible that the mindset among Skyline students is a little broader when looking for colleges.
