But I have the Saucony Peregrines, mentioned below, and they are a rock solid all around trail shoe. I have the OG Brooks Catamounts, which are lighter but not necessary a lot better than the Peregrines. Brooks Cascadia are another solid all around shoe for the casual/beginner trail runner. They're also on the heavier side. I think the really high end trail runners are made by Hoka, Salomon, probably Nike. I'm sure Saucony also have a high end trail runner
