Offensively: 404 yards out of 951 available, 43% gained. That's abysmal. Second worst offensive game all year (next to Southern Cal).
Defensively: gave up 271 out of 818 available, 33%. That's very good.
On the year, we're 57% on offense (up from 47% last year) and 43% on defense (actually a tad worse than last year, 41%).

Sure "felt" like a ton more than that.
I think that may be because a lot of our rushes that have been going for 5-9 were going for 0-2.
Kuechly was credited with 14 tackles - 7 solo/7 asst. Just 1 was for loss. And I sort of tabulated 4 TFL for him in my initial, non-totally-sober viewing. So I think a big part of the problem was probably a lot of 2nd and longs.

Didn't we also have a few drive-killing penalties?
2 drives were really killed by them.

We started one drive from the 6, got rolling, gained 45 yards, got a holding penalty, and then 3 plays later had to punt.
The next one, we had good starting position, our 39. The Mike Floyd PI, followed by a false start on Welch gave us 1st and 30, and actually starting the set of downs behind where we started the drive. Kelly seemed to go into field-position battle mode at this point.

That hook and ladder he blew up really shows how good Kuechley is. He was right on the receiver, and then the pitch, and boom -- he was right on the pitchman. Then he talked trash, deservedly so.
I'm kinda surprised
that we had around the same number available yards in the South Florida and Michigan games as we had Saturday. It seemed like we started every drive at our own 6. I don't remember the other two games having nearly that bad of field position.
