would we expect to lose any other assistants?

The local radio news update guy made it seem like the program thought Golden might only be the first, but that could just be generic news guying.

Don't know about the whole staff

by KGB, Belly o. the Beast, Thursday, January 23, 2025, 07:22 (15 days ago) @ HumanRobot

but read yesterday that they do expect DMC to be back in 2025. And for Price to return, as well, which I'm sure will be a surprise to all of the surrogate helicopter dads in our stupid fanbase.

Coaches who do a good job always have a chance to move

up. And obviously all of our guys did a very good job this year.

But there has been shockingly little movement in college coaching this year. I expect there would be correspondingly fewer opportunities than usual.

I could see some analysis getting actual position coach opportunities at smaller schools or something like that. Which is what they are supposed to do.

We talk about Mickens as the main candidate for DC roles (internal and external) and also Bullough as a fast-riser on that front. What does Al Washington want? He was a HC finalist at BC last year. Was that a one-off because it's his alma mater or something more?

Logically, Gino would be an OC candidate at various spots. McCullough is in high demand, but it sounds like he's saying per one of the ND beat guys. Does Rudolph have actual OC aspirations or is he happy as OL coach (whatever his title might become)?

at this point in the cycle

There's very, very few coordinator roles open and no HC roles open. If anybody leaves, it'd probably be to the NFL. I don't think there's a lot of NFL experience on the staff, but certainly I could see Mickens, DMC, or Rudolph being candidates for position coach jobs in the NFL if that's what they want to do.
