Rumor on 12th game next year

Stanford in the Rose Bowl on the 100th anniversary of the 1925 Rose Bowl. Would be the Shamrock Series game.
Now that we are playing for the title, I don’t like it

The Shamrock Series barnstorming made a lot of sense when we were down following the 3 miserable coaches in a row, but the “brand” is extremely strong now. What we need to do is win in the playoffs. Having enough gas in the tank to win 4 tough games in a row following a 12 game season is a massive challenge that we shouldn’t add to with extra travel. And we need to reinforce our home field comfort and advantage for that first round.
I'd go back to the Rose Bowl for any reason

In fact, if they do book it, I'm going to look into flights.
All I can say is

The 2007 ND-UCLA game was a once in a lifetime experience, I hope
Now that we have the potential to play in 3 bowl games...

I wish we would shitcan the Shamrock Series and just add another home game.
Less travel. More opportunities for alumni and fans to come to campus.
Doesn't the SS game take up an "away game" slot?

I thought the Shamrock Series games often fit into a kind of a two for one deal, where the opponent agreed to a home-and-home-and-Shamrock, with ND controlling the Shamrock Series game. For instance, next season there are seven home games, four road games, and now the Shamrock Series game. 2026-28 all have four road games at this time, although I don't know who controls all of the non-on-campus games.
This season didn't have a Shamrock Series game, but did have five away games, with Navy and Georgia Tech playing their home games off campus.
Also, I get the impression that ND is currently pretty close to the demand line on home game attendance. Meaning that adding another home game is more likely to create shortages for the other games than add a lot more butts in seats.

At night, the ice weasels come.
Depends on the negotiation

For Navy last year, ND gave up what would have been its turn to host, so that game directly replaced a home game. However, this season Army was a one-off with no other games scheduled.

Weaseling out of things is important to learn. It's what separates us from the animals… except the weasel.
Yes, it's a 7-4-1 split.

We'd have to go to 8 home games or add a 5th road tilt.
My mistake. I thought it was in place of a home game.

I think you’re right.

If we moved the shamrock series to ND stadium, I believe we’d have 8 home games a year.
Agree on the Shamrock Series in general

But selfishly, I hope this particular one comes to pass.
There’s a reason I don’t want the ACC to fall apart!
