our "bets" tag:

http://www.bluegraysky.com/forum/index.php?mode=search&search=bets&method=tags

* "Rees averages 26 passes per game O/U." I lose big. http://www.bluegraysky.com/forum/index.php?id=164804

* the Niklas bet has been duly noted.

* various Bart bets resolved here: http://www.bluegraysky.com/forum/index.php?id=195590

* "Rees will have more TDs and fewer INTs than Gardner, but Gardner with more total TDs."
http://www.bluegraysky.com/forum/index.php?id=161914

This one was interesting. Tommy, for all his foibles, did have 27 passing TDs on the year to 13 picks. Gardner went 21/11 passing, but also chipped in 11 rushing TDs. So except for the INTs, Bart pegs this one accurately.

* "Hendrixdozer, Yea or Nay?" http://www.bluegraysky.com/forum/index.php?id=155276
A resounding Nay.

* "Turnovers gained in 2013: 23.5". WAY short of this one, just 17 gained on the year (4 fumbles, 13 interceptions).

* Some bets still underway: BCS playoff expands to 8 teams within 12 years. In progress.

* Finally, was Niklas a Mackey finalist this year? If so, kudos to BillyGoat. http://www.bluegraysky.com/forum/index.php?id=150243

Man, reading back through that Gardner/Michigan thread

by Mike (bart), Wednesday, January 08, 2014, 12:16 (3750 days ago) @ Jay

It is staggering just how much they let slip through their fingers this season. From on-field results to recruiting to reputation to morale, Michigan had the worst 2013 of any major college program by an order of magnitude. They went from "darkhorse NC candidate and almost certain Top 2 recruiting class" to "2-6 down the stretch, failed to show up to the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl, coach on the hot seat and desperately holding on to a class ranked behind ASU, UNC, Arizona and Penn St."

Coulda been worse

Gardner burned his RS, but was given a medical 4 years later for no apparent reason. Imagine UM heading into next year with Sugar Shane as the starter.

Guess there's always hope.

nice 5* they've got there

Be a real shame if something happened to him...

No, he wasn't. It was a really good year for TEs...

Jace Amaro at TTU put up silly numbers. The kid from UNC (Ebron?) was awfully good. And so was Austin Saferian-Jenkins.

Here are the TE leaders for this past season (just going based on guys who appeared in the national leaders on cfbstats) and then Troy's numbers and Eifert's from last year:

Receptions:
Amaro - 106 (7th in the country)
Ebron - 62

Niklas - 32
Eifert 2012 - 50

Yards:
Amaro - 1352 (WTF)
Ebron - 973
Hoskins (Marshall) - 821

Niklas - 498
Eifert 2012 - 685

TDs:
Hoskins - 15
Seferian-Jenkins - 8
Amaro - 7
O'Leary (FSU) - 7

Niklas - 5
Eifert 2012 - 4
