Here's our Contact
form. Drop us
a line and say hello!
Want a handle?
Until now we
haven't had a formal way of adding new members. We
started with friends (and family) and sort of grew from there,
adding
people based on personal friendships and
recommendations. But
what started as a cozy clubhouse after we shut down the blog has
grown
into a decently-trafficked message board, with quite a few
requests
for new members.
I'd still like to keep the process of adding new folks pretty
loose
and informal, but with the large number of handle requests I
thought
it was time to lay out some kind of membership policy.
For starters, keep in mind the forum's always open to read,
whether
you have a handle or not. So we want to give handles to folks
who
want to actively participate. If you're mostly a reader, and
you're
going to chime in just once or twice a year I'd say hold off on
grabbing a handle just yet.
Secondly, if you've been reading for a while you know that just
about
everyone on the forum knows each other (or are friends of
friends),
and most of us know each other in real life. It's not anonymous.
So
that lends a more personal and congenial tone to the board.
There's
not a lot of drama, and that's what makes it fun. We try to keep
it
light.
So if you're interested in participating, here are a couple of
things
you can do:
1. write a note explaining who you are, how long you've been
reading, and why you'd like a handle. Also, if possible...
2. pen a post that we could use on the board. And finally...
3. get a referral or endorsement from a current member.
I can't guarantee we're going to add everyone who requests a
handle,
and I apologize in advance if I don't get to your request right
away.
We'll continue to be deliberately slow in adding new folks.
Thanks for reading!
