The pure joy of a 5 year old…
Love it! Thanks for sharing.
nice
This reminds me of Lollapalooza 2007, seeing Daft Punk (only the second time they had ever toured), with the crazy pyramid light show and everything. We were surrounded by totally stoked 18 year olds. It was really awesome, but when it ended, this friendly kid turned to us and yelled THIS IS THE GREATEST DAY OF MY LIFE! And you know what, it probably was!
Hell yeah.
Glad it was such a great summer movie for y'all.

Did you stay for all the credits?
Apparently the post credits scene is great.

Update: It was the best movie he has ever seen in his life
He spent most of the movie literally jumping up and down in his seat, then walked home pretending to be Skeletor and insisting his mother be Evil-Lyn. His one complaint was that it needed more Battle Cat. His older brother (11) was far less impressed, but the neighbor kid (10) who came with us said that, after the Skywalker Saga and the Mandalorian and Grogu, it was probably his favorite movie.
FWIW, while it's not exactly "good," it is better than it has any right to be. Some of it is genuinely funny, and the soundtrack is pretty great.
I watched that episode last night based on this
The production is kinda silly, but as you said it was a fun nostalgia ride. I'd forgotten some of those characters. The lizard guys with the tongues lol
Although I have no recollection of Stink Man. That just sounds like an awful idea
If Freddy were still around to do the soundtrack
I'd go.
I'm actually hearing reports that it's fun.
Though apparently it's very goofy. I was a huge He-Man fan as a little kid, but this hasn't really done much for me in the trailers. The Skeletor voice is entirely wrong.

I met one of the members of the creative team
at Pat O'Brien's one night. He said the execs wanted a hyper-masculine toy for boys, so they pitched "He-Man" almost as a joke because the name is so ludicrously over the top, and he was surprised it got picked.
Man - e - faces?*

Have you seen “The Toys That Made Us” on Netflix?
It covers how they came up with the ideas and characters. Good series for nostalgia.
That's awesome.

You are so lucky…
That’s seriously awesome. Enjoy every minute of it!
Not sure about widespread, but my 5 y.o. can't wait
He just started binge-watching the original series, and he's already insisting on playing He-Man games. I expect to be role-playing as Skeletor all summer and quite possibly donning a Skeletor costume on Halloween at his behest.
Skeletor
So he’s this skeleton guy, right? But with MUSCLES!
(Would have loved to be in the original pitch room for this show)
It is getting far better reviews than I expected
I watched the trailer because I watched He-Man as a kid and the cast is kind of nuts, so I was curious. But the trailer was even worse than I could have ever imagined. But it is not being universally panned like I thought it would be.
If we’re being honest, I was rooting for a She-Man movie
World’s Strongest Human meets SuperPerson in outrageously glamorous RuPaul’s Drag Race attire.
Am I missing the widespread interest in a He-Man movie?
Because that seems like just lighting money on fire.
