I'm not as incensed as MT is, but....
...I think he carried the Arsenal time-wasting narrative into the game and was determined to show he was going to be tough about it, facts be damned.
I have never, ever seen a half end as a corner was about to be taken. And only 30 seconds into a MINIMUM of 6 minutes of added time. And I think he did it again at the end of the first 15 minutes of extra time.
The Mosquera yellow for not taking a throw in after 14 seconds in his own half. 14 seconds. And he was already holding the ball looking for a teammate. And it was 30 seconds into the 2nd half! That's just ridiculous.
And I think he let that bias into some other calls. Saka's yellow was a play where both guys went in hard and both made contact with the ball. I didn't even think it was a foul, much less a card.
PSG kicked the ball away on a couple of restarts. No cautions. Not even warnings. Hakimi elbowed Havertz in the throat as he tried to collect the ball for a throw in. Nothing.
And I'm not seeing the same foul on the penalty that you are. Mosquera gets the ball, he just gets Kharatscalia first by a split second. He didn't just chop him down. He was a fraction away from a clean challenge.
There is no card for SPA if a player challenges for the ball and a penalty is awarded. Just like there's no red for DOGSO if a penalty is awarded.
All in all, PSG is a better team, but Arsenal defended well and had dangerous moments. Tough, tough way to lose. First team in history to not lose a Champion's League match throughout but not win the trophy.
