heading into this season was his inability to ensure the team performed adequately away from big games, ending up dropping a game in week 2 in the first year of an expanded playoff is probably the optimal outcome.

Scared the absolute shit out of him and the team, and they had ample time to rebound and refine their resolve.

Don't have to squint that hard at a world where he eke out a 4-10 point win against NIU and then end up farting out a loss against Army or Navy or Ga Tech later in the year, really putting us in a bad spot.
