Amazing stat I never realized:
Even if you take all of Aaron's historic 755 home runs away, he STILL would have ended his career with over 3000 hits. That's extraordinary.
I've always bucked for Ted Williams as the greatest hitter who ever lived, but Hank Aaron is not too far off. They both showed up fully-formed at age 20 (though it took Hank a year to really ascend) and terrorized the league every season in which they played for the next two decades.
