In the age of the interwebs and immediately-disseminated fan theories, binge watching a program once it's done is maybe the best thing that can happen for a viewer. Far less time, as you say, coming up with and reading theories about what might happen the next week (or next season) and more enjoyment of what is happening. On the other hand, I've found that binge watching also exposes more of a show's flaws to me than regular watching ever did. But on balance, I think that not getting caught up in fan theorizing is a positive.
