I understand your skepticism...

and he's far from a sure thing, but I really do see the appeal. He checks a lot of the important boxes for me:

- son of a coach

- worked under an elite coach in Harbaugh and was part of the staff that helped build the Stanford juggernaut

- turned around not one, but two programs

- built a potent offense at USF with the foundation of an explosive, creative running attack (17 straight games scoring at least 30 points, 285 rushing yards per game in his last year)

- tenacious recruiter (Oregon is ranked eighth in the country by 247, which is basically unheard of)

- has proved that he can put together an elite staff (lured Mario Cristobal and Jim Leavitt to Oregon)

I think he's going to be a big success at FSU, and I'm bummed that they got him.
