On the lighter side: An app recommendation

I'm sure many here already use it, but... I'm a huge fan of Flipboard, especially on a tablet. It's a great way to easily consume news from a variety of sources in one place. You can configure it to have different categories or include specific sources if you want, but the default, uh, channel, I guess, is really good by itself.

I'm not positive on this, but I believe they find the articles by scouring Twitter for major news services, since every service now tweets everything. So in the one main channel, I get a collection of articles from the AP, NPR, NY Times, the Washington Post, MSNBC, Fox News, the BBC, the Guardian, Reuters, Al Jazeera, and many others.
