I'll go contrarian on the LB question

I don't think that position group will hang us. We play just one "cram it down your throat" offense (Stanford) where we need a thumper in the middle; the rest of the sched are spread/passing/option teams, or are in serious remedial transition (Michigan, USC). Shifting Jaylon to the middle and bringing up some speedier OLB guys (Onwualu, Turner); introducing new coverage schemes and blitz packages; playing more aggressively along the DL; all of these factors will keep us covered on defense, at least in 11 of 12 games.

I'll put down "red zone production" as the true bugaboo for this team. We've proven we can play good defense in Kelly's tenure; we've never proven that we can convert touchdown opportunities with any degree of regularity. Time to solve it.
