And the bishop (from Ft. Wayne, not South Bend) has been various people anyway. For that matter, so has the pope. Not that I expect him to be declared a saint anytime soon. Usually that goes at a glacial pace no matter who is under consideration, with the obvious exceptions of two recent popes.

And who are these "core Catholics" you're talking about anyway? What is a "core Catholic"?
