I would imagine it's more of a style problem with Bay

I personally am all for watching great stories of US military heroism on the big screen (Black Hawk Down, Lone Survivor, etc.). Bay's style is so over-the-top, though, that many of his shots almost seem worshipful/fascist in their hyper-dramatization.
