Because to me, it's one of those oh, we became popular so now we're going to execute our complete polar shift of style now that we think we're legitimate artists, and in the process, start to sound like Just Another Indie Band (tm) kind of albums.

I'll spare you the details of how badly I wanted to gouge out my eyes while listening to it, but I very literally think that everything that made the first two albums endearing is missing from this album, and that I won't spend any more time on the band going forward.
