this month (per Rivals).
I will be surprised if he doesn't reopen his May 'commitment' at some point during the season.
I am rooting for Stanford here, but fully expect to be disappointed when he chooses Michigan.
Shouldn't we start pulling for Michigan in that battle?

We're about done with them, which makes them a good destination for guys ND wouldn't get. It's not like Garlin's going to win a title, so park a few guys there instead of Stanford.
No.

I'd just as soon see them relive the days of "3 loss Lloyd", thank you. I don't care if we're "done" with them. It will chap my ass if UM goes on to do anything noteworthy while we can't get at them. Imagine Hashtag U winning essentially one game (OSU) and waltzing into a NC playoff and a possible championship itself.
There is only one scenario in which I pull for Michigan

If they actually make it to the Rose Bowl (i.e., don't stub their maizey toe along the way), and if their opponent is USC, then I will root for them. I won't be happy about it, but I'll do it.

I'll root for the meteor.

That, or for Traveler to poop on the Michigan sidelines.
I get this. But...

...I live in Pasadena and the meteor would cause damage to my house.
Also, I find that whether one would root for SC or Michigan in this situation comes down to whether one has to deal more regularly with SC fans or Michigan fans.

However, neither are worse than Alabama fans. Good grief.

And I'll root for USC every single time. The Trojans are repugnant.
Michigan is pure evil.
I don't even have the same TYPE of feelings for USC

as I do for Michigan.
I agree. It's ND Football 101...

USC is a bizarro perversion of everything ND is and stands for.

One that just lands on the stadium. I'll cheer for that and your house.

into the biggest USC fan in the world. Going into that game, I had been curious about how I would feel while I watched it. Once the ball was kicked, there was no more mystery.
I would never pull for them to win an actual game.

If Kermit Gosnell coached the other team, I'd root for them. Hell, I'd bring one of those t-shirt cannons and shoot fake fetuses into the crowd.
But given what Stanford's done with recruits who weren't #1 at their position, I think they'd be a huge pain in the ass with a team full of blue-chippers.

I may have the wrong Kermit in mind. The frog is the one that killed all those women and babies and the doctor is the one having sex with the lady pig, right?
He hasn't visited Stanford yet

He was scheduled to visit there and that got cancelled. Maybe "Old Union" had some issue with him. Michigan looks to have a commanding position here.
What I don't get is why ND couldn't get into the game in any meaningful way. Academically oriented kid from New Jersey who is looking at LSJU and UM, and to a lesser extent Tosu, and ND barely rated a mention.
Something must have happened

Back in October things looked pretty promising:

Coupled with the fact that he and Elijah Shumate are pretty tight, I thought we had a pretty decent shot.
I am not sure what happened in the interim. Also, sounds like some of the communication tailed off also.
I wonder if the AQM thing had anything to do with it.
