There's a good arguement for the latter (edit)
Young QB + Excellent Defense = Conservative Offense
edit: I'd be curious to see his numbers for the Oklahoma game, which was probably the first game that needed some plays by the offense to win.
Or should we expect the increased risk in playcalling to
be offset by improvement on the part of Golson.
My next question:
Is that a result of Golson's innate ability, or Kelly's structuring of the offense in a way to minimize the possibility of bad decisions from his young QB? If it's the latter, do we expect that metric to rise in 2013 as Kelly loosens the reins?
Rest of paragraph really lays it out
"That would be a tremendous total for a senior quarterback, and is simply phenomenal for a redshirt freshman in his first year as a starter."
Crazy stat about Everett in there.
Golson also recorded a 1.6 percent mark in the bad decision rate (BDR) metric that gauges how often a quarterback makes a mental error that leads to a turnover opportunity for the opposing team.
Wow
That piece comes across as pretty well researched an intelligent, IMO. It seemed even keel and actually aware of ND's offense's upside potential.
KC Joyner thinks ND will have a great offense this year
